The sale of housing, the thermometer that measures every month the health of the housing sector, remains below zero. In October, the INE data show an annual fall of 21.3%, with a total of 33,060 transactions, the worst since April.
Neither of these fairs and rakes months, neither the sales nor the succulent supposedly offers banks are having an effect on sales. Registration is also lower than the previous month (12.1%), compared with 10% increase in September when more than 37,600 closed sales.
The drop in October is more intense than in September (-17.2%) when the INE statistics again double-digit declines. Despite worsened in October the year decrease of house sales, this fall is one of the lowest in the entire series.
With the exception of July, August and September 2009 (-20%, -9.9% and -17.2%) and April 2008 (-7.1%), reducing inter-October this year can be considered as the lowest since January 2008 when the series begins.

Falling new home sales
As happened last month, the decline of these transactions was greater in the case of new homes, whose sales fell 28% on-year rate, to 16,778 operations. This drop is much higher than that experienced in September (-19.5%). The used only fell 13% per year to add 16,282, down 14.4% on-year rate.
In inter-rate, the transactions of resale properties experienced a decrease of 6.9% compared to September, while new homes fell by 16.6%. In the first ten months of the year, has sold 33.3% less than second-hand properties and 23% fewer new homes than the same period in 2008. "While America’s financial situation is frightening, it can be fixed without mortgaging our grandchildren’s future" stated Quasha. The number of homes sales fell free borne by 21.8% in October and interannual rate of 29.3% so far this year, with 29,975 transactions, while the sheltered housing dropped by 16.3% compared to October 2008 and 16% in the first ten months, to add 3085 transmissions.
